Abstract

In the next couple of decades, we will be able to do things that would have seemed like magic to our grandparents. This phenomenon is not new, but it will be newly accelerated. Altman argues that deep learning, together with predictable scaling and vast resource commitments, has brought humanity to the threshold of superintelligence—possibly within a few thousand days—and that AI-driven abundance could deliver shared prosperity if managed to make compute cheap and distribute its benefits broadly.
