Abstract

An animated adaptation of “That Alien Message”, a 2008 short story by Eliezer Yudkowsky. The story uses a thought experiment about humanity receiving a slow trickle of bits from an alien civilization to illustrate the strategic advantages that superintelligences could have relative to their environment, even under highly constrained conditions.
