Philosophy and environmental crisis

Abstract

The eight papers in this collection were delivered at the Fourth Annual Conference in Philosophy at the University of Georgia in February 1971, dealing with topics related to the current controversy about man’s use of his environment. The contributors discuss issues such as overpopulation, man’s relation to nature, and the proper role of technology in industrialized societies. This conference was the first ever philosophical conference on environmental ethics.
