On the vulnerable world hypothesis

Abstract

First, I consider the premises and assumptions of the Vulnerable World Hypothesis. Second, I consider the costs and benefits of surveillance. Third, I relax these assumptions one by one. As things stand, I don’t think ubiquitous real-time worldwide surveillance is a good idea.
