Abstract

This volume in the NOMOS series (American Society for Political and Legal Philosophy) includes essays on legitimacy of the majority, the utilitarian view of majoritarianism, majorities and elections, pluralism and equality, democratic theory, and American democracy and majority rules. The essays explore diverse philosophical perspectives on the concept and ideal of equality in political and social contexts.
