Machine intelligence and capital accumulation

Abstract
The distribution of wealth in the world appears to have had a small or unpredictable effect on the world of today. However, AI may fundamentally change this dynamic, and the distribution of resources shortly after the arrival of human-level AI may have very long-lasting consequences. Right now, people control the resources, but are gradually being replaced by AI. Unlike people, AI can be reprogrammed to align with the values of their owners and can directly determine the values of new AIs, which means that the distribution of resources may crystallize. The model also identifies the need for research into ways to mitigate this effect, including developing ways to measure the impact of AI on wealth distribution and to identify effective policy interventions. – AI-generated abstract.
