Proceedings of the first AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics, and Society (AIES), co-located with AAAI-18 in New Orleans, February 2–3, 2018. The conference, jointly organized by ACM and AAAI, focused on societal and ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, including topics such as building ethical AI systems, value alignment, moral machine decision making, impact of AI on workforce, and controlling AI.
