Sophie Hild and Louis Schweitzer Animal welfare: from science to law collection This volume collects articles from approximately twenty international experts on animal welfare, originally presented at the symposium ``Le Bien-^etre animal: de la science au droit’’ organized by La Fondation Droit Animal, 'Ethique et Sciences (LFDA) at UNESCO in December 2015. By creating a junction between the worlds of law and science, the collection enables consideration of actions that can improve animal conditions. Topics include the history of animal welfare, animal sentience assessment, evaluation methods, legal frameworks in the European Union and other regions, and perspectives on animal welfare legislation worldwide.
