Drawing morals: Essays in ethical theory

Abstract

This book contains a selection of my essays in moral and political philosophy published between 1982 and 2010. They address a variety of topics. Many concern which states of aff airs are intrinsically good, but others discuss which acts or policies are right. Some have abstract topics, such as the principle of organic unities or the nature and value of virtue; others tackle applied issues such as criminal punishment, nationalism, and the use of force in war.
