EA Dedicates

Abstract

The effective altruism community has people with diverse priorities, some valuing work-life balance and others dedicating their lives to improving the world. “EA dedicates” are those who prioritize effective altruism above all else. They often make significant personal sacrifices to maximize their impact, while “non-dedicates” balance effective altruism with other personal pursuits. Both groups contribute significantly, with non-dedicates providing a diversity of perspectives and resilience to the movement, and dedicates achieving remarkable impact. Being a dedicate is not for everyone, but it can be a fulfilling path for those with the passion and aptitude.
