The Future of Humanity Institute (FHI), established in 2005, is an Oxford-based multi-disciplinary research center dedicated to the study of existential risk and other long-term global challenges and their potential solutions. Among the topics it has focused on are existential risks from advanced artificial intelligence and technology, natural pandemics, nuclear war, astronomical catastrophes, superintelligence, whole brain emulation, population ethics, the ethics of human enhancement, and more recently geopolitical risks of artificial intelligence.
